- Wilkinson Plus don’t have stock very often, but when they do the console is just £169!
- Woolworths site says that they won’t have stock until January.
Amazon Germany have blocked people from the UK from purchasing Wii Consoles. Sorry to all of those coming to this page in the hope of finding a way to place their order there …

Don’t mean to scare anyone but, did anyone who has purchased an nintendo wii from France check to see that a pal game works on it. I have just read an email on another discussion board from NINTENDO UK which says that the French operate under a system known as SECAM, because of this they cannot guarantee that a French console would play pal games. Please tell me this is not the case or I am in big trouble!!!

Worried Mum-
Don’t worry missus- you’ll see ‘PAL’ towards the bottom right-hand side of the box (front).
The Wii console is PAL all across Europe (including France). You only have to ‘worry’ about the plug- make sure that you have a 2-pin (Euro) to 3-pin (UK) adapter/plug.
Perhaps you should change your name to relieved mum now!

Just wondering why i cannot buy a wii from the scoregame website cause alot of people here have managed to get it.
If it is out of stock when can i expect to be able to get one.

I haven’t seen the box yet as I had it delivered to a relatives address - to stop certain little people from finding it.
Wonder what yer man from Nintendo was on about that secam system!!! Anyway, I won’t worry about that now as long as it works “Happy Days” .

Don’t worry about SECAM, it’s dead apart from analogue terrestrial television and VHS. Old skool.

I don’t think there would be a problem with a US purchased remote. I believe only games would be locked to the region.

i got my wii from germany, and 3 remotes from gadget asia.com in hong kong all work fine.

cheers for that. my wii is from germany and works fine just was`nt sure about the remotes from the states. A relative is going in few days to vegas so gonna get them to pick me one up

Well Dixons’ stock didn’t last long as usual, even though it was £300+.

No i’m here, i have not vanished
But i work a lot and can’t be on the forum all the day 
For the Wii, we have sent more Wii than we thought so we need more supplies and some Wii will arrive tomorrow morning.
Thanks to remember that your Wii will be delivered before Christmas only if you make your order before the 10th December. After this date we’re afraid that it will take to many time to be delivered.
I’m happy to see that more and more costumers received their Wii. We were anxious too.

The Dixons Wii Play deal didn’t last long, hope a few of you grabbed one while you could.

I should also say that Amazon UK have had quite a few stock sightings, all in the middle of the night annoyingly enough. Though there were some there this morning at 730am-ish. So worth keeping an eye on.
Bit annoying that you could potentially stay up all night refreshing the page and see nothing … but the stock lasts literally minutes so I guesss some people are doing just that!

Am waiting for my wii from german ebay seller. It was dispatched around 1/12. Can anyone tell me the service used to deliver to UK - was it Royal Mail. Am contacting the seller to confirm if there is a way of tracking but would appreciate any feedback from you guys too. Anyone else in a similar position still waiting ?
